More than 3,000 advance votes cast in Nanaimo byelection

More than 3,000 people cast ballots during the first two days of advance voting for the provincial byelection in Nanaimo.
Elections B.C. says 1,532 people voted Tuesday and a further 1,655 voted Wednesday at two advance polling stations.
The byelection, which was called for Jan. 30, is being held to fill the seat left vacant by NDP MLA Leonard Krog, who stepped down after winning the city’s mayoral race in October.
