Metro Vancouver housing prices up 48 per cent since 2010: CMHC

A 48 per cent hike in Vancouver housing prices from 2010 to 2016 is being partly driven up by homebuyers bidding a higher price for a property because they believe foreigners are investing in the market, according to the CMHC.
In a wide-ranging report released Wednesday that examined escalating real estate prices in Vancouver and Canada’s four other largest cities, the federal housing agency said between five and 10 per cent of Vancouver’s market is owned by non-resident investors.
