Metro Vancouver debt service costs to soar over the next five years

The percentage of revenue that Metro Vancouver spends on servicing debt is expected to double over the next five years.
During a presentation made Wednesday to Metro Vancouver’s finance and inter-government committee, chief financial officer Phil Trotzuk revealed that the percentage would go from 16 per cent in 2019 to 31 per cent in 2023. In 2018, Metro spent $126 million on debt, out of revenues of $757 million, or 16.6 per cent.
