Mayors' Council vote on Surrey SkyTrain proposal Wednesday

TransLink’s Mayors’ Council will vote Wednesday on a proposal to halt construction on Surrey’s $1.65-billion light-rail line and begin planning towards a SkyTrain extension along the Fraser Highway.
The motion, put forth by TransLink, comes one week after Surrey council voted to scrap the Surrey-Newton-Guildford Light Rail Transit Line (LRT), which was part of Phase 2 of the mayors’ council’s 10-year regional transportation plan.
