Long, gruelling workdays for nurses at understaffed Surrey jail 'highly concerning'
Nurses at the jail in Surrey where people are held while awaiting trial are operating at an unsafe staffing level, compromising their safety and their ability to provide patient care, their union says.
Postmedia has learned of a situation last week at the Surrey pretrial jail where nurses were instructed to only provide ‘priority medication’ to inmates because of staff illness, which resulted in heightened tensions inside the facility.
