ICBC stats show record high 350,000 crashes in 2017
Distraction, speed and aggressive driving habits resulted in an all-time high 350,000 automobile crashes in 2017, ICBC reported Tuesday, which cost the financially beleaguered public insurer $4.8 billion in claims.
The total number is up six per cent from 2016, according to ICBC statistics, and 25 per cent higher than 2014, said Lindsay Matthews, interim vice-president for road safety for the public auto insurer.
