ICBC recorded all-time high 350,000 car crashes in 2017

British Columbians racked up an all-time hight 350,000 car crashes in 2017, which cost $4.8 billion in total claims, a financially-beleaguered ICBC reported this morning.
That is a six-per-cent rise from 2016, and a rate that is 25 per cent higher than 2014, according to ICBC statistics.
“That means one out of 10 drivers could cause a crash this year,” said Lindsay Matthews, ICBC’s interim vice-president for road safety in releasing the figures.
