High snowpack could fuel historic river flows in B.C.

The River Forecast Centre is predicting one-in-100-year streamflow rates for rivers near several B.C. communities, including Kelowna, Spences Bridge, Houston and Smithers.
A Monday-morning, 10-day forecast identified seven rivers that will approach historic flow rates and a handful of others — such as the Salmon River near Salmon Arm and the Similkameen River near Hedley — that are expected to swell significantly by the end of the week.
