Governments put $1.5 million US Cascadia high-speed train study on rails
Transportation officials and corporate donor Microsoft have finalized $1.5 million US in funding needed to keep alive the dream of high-speed rail on the Cascadia corridor, with a one-hour Vancouver to Seattle transit time.
Washington and Oregon departments of transportation, along with British Columbia and Microsoft, issued a joint announcement today confirming they are going ahead with a business-case study for what could be a $24-billion to $42-billion project.
