First collars installed on Alex Fraser Bridge to prevent ice falling on vehicles

Crews tested 14 collars on the Alex Fraser Bridge Friday during the storm that brought more than 20 centimetres of snow in some parts of Metro Vancouver. 
The Ministry of Transportation says the collars, which drop down to dislodge any snow or ice that has accumulated on the cables, cleared about five centimetres of snow.
