Firefighters battling fast-spreading grass fire near Kamloops

B.C. Wildfire Service has dispatched 49 firefighters, air tankers and a helicopter to a grass fire near Kamloops that has grown rapidly.
The wildfire, burning in the Shuswap Road area, is pushing smoke towards Kamloops and is highly visible from Highway 1. It had burned about 0.6 square kilometres by mid-afternoon on Thursday.
