Firefighters battling 60-hectare grass fire near Kamloops

B.C. Wildfire Service has dispatched 49 firefighters, air tankers and a helicopter to a grass fire near Kamloops that has grown to 60 hectares.
The wildfire, burning in the Shuswap Road area, is pushing smoke towards Kamloops and is highly visible from Highway 1.
UPDATE: the fire east of Shushwap Road is currently now estimated at 60 hectares. Air support continues to work on the fire, with ground crews focused on securing the fire perimeter near structures.
