Fines shoot up for shoddy party buses
Fines will quadruple for party buses and commercial vehicles that do not meet inspection safety standards, the NDP government announced Friday.
Fines will rise from $81 to $318 for any of these vehicles that do no display decals indicating they have passed a safety inspection. They will be the highest penalties in western Canada, and are expected to be in place early next year, transportation minister Claire Trevena said in a statement.
