Ferries cancelled, thousands lose power as high winds hit B.C.

High winds forced ferry cancellations and caused power outages, as a windstorm whipped across the B.C. South Coast on Friday.
B.C. Ferries said multiple sailings were cancelled, including runs between Twsawwassen and Swartz Bay, Tsawwassen and Nanaimo, and Nanaimo and Horseshoe Bay. By 3 p.m., sailings had resumed on most routes.
