Mountain Equipment Co-op, the outdoor gear behemoth with five million members, found itself in a tough spot this week when it became known that some of the brands it sells are owned by a company with interests in the manufacture of assault-style weapons.
Vista Outdoor Inc. owns some of MEC’s most popular brands, including Bolle, Bushnell, CamelBak, Camp Chef and Jimmy Styks. But Vista also has a Shooting Sports segment that designs, develops, produces and sources firearms and ammunition.&n
