Derelict Regent Hotel ordered closed, residents being moved into new homes

Nearly 80 people living inside the derelict Regent Hotel will be moved into new homes after the Downtown Eastside SRO was ordered closed by the City of Vancouver due to “unsafe conditions.”
An order was issued Wednesday, directing that occupancy of the 105-year-old hotel at 160 East Hastings St. cease by June 28.
