Deadline extended to raise $1 million for Rio Theatre purchase

Shortly after completing a 30-hour telethon, Rio Theatre operator Corinne Lea announced she had been granted an extension on the deadline to raise $1 million to buy the beloved East Vancouver theatre.
“Good news! We are very excited to announce we have been granted an extension from our landlord, so we have more time to raise the funds and complete all the paper work needed to buy the Rio,” she shared in a post early Tuesday morning.
