On Monday, B.C.’s government unveiled legislation that paves the way for ride-hailing to hit B.C. in late 2019.
The legislation, which still needs to be passed, would require any driver working for the likes of Uber or Lyft to get a Class 4 or commercial driver’s license. Uber and Lyft, however, had been pushing for regular Class 5 drivers to be permitted to drive for them.
