Daily Poll: Do you support a levy on new developments to pay for transit?
The B.C. government has introduced legislation that would allow TransLink to levy a development-cost charge on new construction in Metro Vancouver to help pay for transit improvements and expansions in the area.
The development-cost charge would be a one-time fee on new developments. It would increase the price of a new residential unit by $1,500 to $2,850; it would raise about $29 million annually.
