Car crash in Richmond knocks out power to thousands

A Sunday afternoon crash in Richmond knocked out power to thousands of local homes and businesses  — including, briefly, at Vancouver International Airport.
According to BC Hydro, a motor vehicle collision around 4 p.m. at Westminster Highway and Garden City Way was responsible for the outage.
Customers near the collision as well as on Sea Island Way were affected.
