Capilano University celebrates 50 years

Chemistry professor Penny Le Couteur moved to Vancouver in 1968. Needing a job, she applied at the new Capilano College on the North Shore.
“I walked in on a Friday and the dean said, ‘Oh, I haven’t interviewed anybody in science yet, and classes start Monday,’” she recounts with a laugh. “So I got a job.”
