Boy, 8, from Nanaimo killed when riding his bicycle

NANAIMO — An eight-year-old Nanaimo boy has been killed in a collision with a pickup while riding his bicycle.
Police say the accident happened just before noon Sunday.
Emergency first aid was administered almost immediately by a Good Samaritan and police say he received quick medical care in hospital, but the boy’s injuries were extensive and he couldn’t be saved.
RCMP investigators obtained statements and spoke with the driver of the Ford F-350 truck involved in the crash.
