B.C.'s electricity use increases 0.2 per cent during Earth Hour 2018
British Columbia did an electric slip-up in power usage during Earth Hour this weekend.
Between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday, electricity use went up by 0.2 per cent provincewide, according to B.C. Hydro.
It was the first recorded increase in Earth Hour power consumption in a decade.
Across the Lower Mainland, usage increased by 0.5 per cent, while over on Vancouver Island, it rose by 0.6 per cent. There was no change in consumption in the Southern Interior and Northern Interior.
