B.C. wind storm: White Rock pier split in two, ferries cancelled, tree crashes on Stanley Park causeway

A winter storm hit the B.C. South Coast Thursday, causing ferry cancellations, power outages, dangerous road conditions, and SkyTrain disruptions in Metro Vancouver.
In White Rock, high winds sent loose boats crashing into the pier, splitting it in two and stranding one individual at the far end.
A helicopter was deployed to rescue the man from the free-standing section of the pier, which is bring stripped away by wind and waves.
The pier is closed until further notice, the city of White Ro
