B.C. gives itself more time to hit more aggressive pollution targets

VICTORIA – B.C. is backing away from aggressive pollution reduction targets it won’t meet for 2020, instead giving itself another decade to hit slightly tougher new levels. 
Environment Minister George Heyman introduced legislation Monday that would alter its greenhouse gas (GHG) targets, which had been set by previous Liberal premier Gordon Campbell mandating a 33 per cent reduction in GHG emissions from 2007 levels by 2020.
