Backup plan in place for West Coast Express in case of CP Rail strike

TransLink has a backup plan ready in case Canadian Pacific Railway workers go on strike next week and West Coast Express commuter rail service is affected.
On Friday morning, members of two unions representing train operators and signal and communications workers voted 98 per cent and 97 per cent, respectively, against a final contract offer from CP Rail.
“We are monitoring the situation closely for any impacts on West Coast Express service,” TransLink said in a news release.
