Andy Yan surveys his chain of history
Andy Yan showed up at The Vancouver Sun and The Province offices Friday with his chain and leather.
But the mild-mannered planner wasn’t looking to start a brouhaha with rugby-playing city columnist Dan Fumano. He came in to show off his latest acquisition, a 33-foot surveyor’s chain that was used to measure city lots in the 1880s.
He paid US$350 for the chain, which he found on eBay. He’d been looking for one for years.
