A kayaker has drowned off the waters of Burnaby

A male kayaker drowned off the waters of Barnet Marine Park in Burnaby on Thursday.
According to an RCMP news release, emergency services were called to the park at 2:15 p.m. with reports of a man overboard after his kayak had capsized. Three Canadian Coast Guard vessels, the Burnaby Fire Department and Vancouver Police Marine Unit attended the scene.
The man’s body was recovered at 3:20 p.m. The tide was halfway in at the time.
