9 things to do (some dog-friendly!) during a weekend getaway to Edmonton

The snow started just as we hit Edmonton. We’d been racing the heavy snowfall warning — and watching the temperature fall — all the way up from Calgary. Edmonton, my hometown, was in for a proper cold snap with temperatures around -25 and a wind chill, just to keep it interesting.
Back in the day, I’d get through the weekend — the whole winter, actually — in Adidas Gazelles and a down jacket that may or may not have been zipped up. But I wear proper winte
