5 Things: Keep pets indoors, and other tips to protect animals from smoke
The smoke from hundreds of wildfires choking B.C. is not just bad for people, but can also harm animals, especially those with health problems.
As an air quality warning continues for much of the province, the SPCA is advising residents to keep their pets indoors if possible.
SPCA spokeswoman Lorie Chortyk says when air quality advisories are issued, pet owners should take similar precautions as humans to ensure their furry friends are comfortable in the haze and summer heat.
