Wrong-way vehicle travels 40 kilometres on Highway 400

The West Parry Sound OPP detachment responded to multiple calls of a wrong-way vehicle travelling northbound in the southbound lanes of Highway 400 shortly before 6:30 pm Sunday.
Police stopped the southbound traffic and positioned the cruiser with lights flashing. The tire-deflation device was utilized in the open lane. The wrong-way vehicle did not stop for the officer and ran over the spike belt, which aided in safely slowing and stopping the vehicle.
The driver was a 76-year-old male from Pe
