Woman faces assault charge in hammer attack

A 22-year-old female is facing charges following an argument that turned violent Monday.
Police responded to a call to assist an ambulance with a person in medical distress on Hutchison Avenue. Police determined that during an argument, a female retrieved a hammer and struck the victim in the head.
She then called an ambulance.
The victim received medical treatment but was later released.
A set of brass knuckles was seized during the investigation.
