'SpongeBob' creator Stephen Hillenburg dies at 57

LOS ANGELES — Stephen Hillenburg, who used his dual loves of drawing and marine biology to spawn the absurd undersea world of "SpongeBob SquarePants," has died, Nickelodeon announced Tuesday.
