OPP cracking down on distracted driving

Keep your eyes on the road and your hands off cellphones.
That’s the message by the Ontario Provincial Police as they crack down on distracted driving.
Last year, the North Bay detachment of the OPP investigated 678 collisions. An estimated 10 per cent of them – or in the neighbourhood of 70 collisions – were the result of inattentive driving.
New, tougher penalties were brought into effect Jan. 1 to deal with distracted driving. Drivers caught talking on their phones, texting,
