North Bay Para powerlifter qualifies to compete in worlds

Jake Beaton has qualified to compete in the world para-lifting championships in Astana, Kazakhstan next summer.
The North Bay resident, who represented Canada as the National Champion and two time record holder, recently returned from lifting in the World Para Power-lifting Americas Open Championships in Bogota, Colombia.
Beaton was among three Canadian competitors who attended the event and was honoured to be selected as the Canadian flag bearer during the competition’s closing ceremonies
