North Bay & area sets snow depth record

It’s official. The average snow depth measured at three area snow survey sites has set a record for this time of year.
“The average snow depth for all sites is 71cm (172 per cent of normal) and average water equivalence is 110.7 mm (136 per cent of normal),” reports Joel Harrison, a water resources scientist with the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority.
The average snow depth on Jan. 31, 2018, was 37.9 cm and water equivalence 64.3 mm.
