Near North trustees get Christmas gift from outgoing board

It’s a good feeling to end the year in the black.
Without sacrificing any student programming, the Near North District School Board closed their books last year with a $1.4 million surplus, says the former school board chairman.
“The trustees said they wanted a balanced budget and surplus and that is what we did,” said David Thompson. “And we did it without sacrificing any student programming.”
