Mattawa student, 9, approached by suspicious person

OPP responded to a complaint of a suspicious person in Mattawa shortly after 9 am today.
Officers attended a school to speak with a student and his parent.
Investigation revealed that, at approximately 8:40 a.m., the 9-year-old boy was walking on Henry Street, near Lily Street. A pickup was parked on the side of the road with a driver inside.
The driver rolled down his window and offered the child $10 to help him get unstuck.
The child replied that he did not talk to strangers and kept walking.
