Long-term care workers ‘at breaking point’

Long-term care staff in North Bay and across Northeastern Ontario are subject to physical violence in “staggering” proportions, according to the Canadian Union of Public Employees.
Registered practical nurses and personal support workers at long-term care homes in the region “feel physical violence is part of their job,” Sharon Richer, secretary-treasurer of the Ontario Council of Hospital Unions, said Wednesday.
