Franco-Ontarians flood Main Street to protest against cuts
Hundreds of Franco-Ontarians made noise and waved placards outside Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli’s constituency office Saturday to protest government cuts to French-language services.An estimated 500 demonstrators filled both sides of Main Street, decrying the Progressive Conservative government’s cancellation of a planned French-language university in Toronto and its changes to Ontario’s French-language commissioner position.
