‘Brilliant red’ sky: North Bay man drives through thick wildfire smoke

Bill Antler has never seen the sky so “brilliant red.”For 60-kilometres the North Bay resident drove through thick smoke from nearby wildfires that rained ash particles on his windshield.Antler said he was on his way to visit friends in Thunder Bay when he found himself in the middle of a smoke storm.“About 20-kilometres outside Beardmore, the smoke began to get rather heavy,” he said.“The sky was brilliant red, but dark at the same time. The air was heavy with smo
