Another scam going around North Bay

The North Bay Police Service is warning about recent reports of a scam involving a request for funds within a business setting, with the use of compromised email addresses. A business email compromise is a type of cybercrime where fraudsters use emails to trick business employees into transferring money or sensitive information to the fraudsters account, according to police. It typically involves the fraudster impersonating someone the victim trusts like a CEO, known vendor or co-worker.
