Wei Wai Kum First Nation breaks ground on waterfront hotel in Campbell River

It was a day to remember for the Wei Wai Kum First Nation, and the first step for a downtown Campbell River hotel that’ll be three years in the making.
The Nation marked a significant milestone in its economic development journey on Sept. 11 with a traditional land blessing and groundbreaking ceremony for a new waterfront hotel.
It will be branded a Tapestry Collection by Hilton and with a planned opening of spring 2029.The hotel is Nation-owned and will be managed by Innovation Hospitalit
