UPDATE: 2nd ‘out of control’ Sooke region wildfire grows to 10 hectares

A wildfire in the Sooke Hills has grown to 10 hectares overnight.
The fire was first discovered Sunday evening (Sept. 20), hours after another smaller wildfire sparked near Juan de Fuca Provincial Park.
An update Monday morning (Sept. 21) by the BC Wildfire Service said the Leech River wildfire in the Sooke Hills had jumped from two- to 10 hectares in size.
Aviation resources are supporting response efforts to the fire, which is listed by the BC Wildfire Service as ‘out of control’,
