Senior dies after being hit by SUV in Nanaimo

A senior is dead after being hit by a sport utility vehicle in Nanaimo last night.
In a press release, Nanaimo RCMP said first responders were on the scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision at Departure Bay Road, near Argyle Street, around 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 23.
Based on the preliminary investigation, a man in his late 70s was hit while standing by his vehicle that was parked off the road. He was struck after an SUV left the road, driven by a man also in his late 70s.
