Project proposing 17 new housing units on Nanaimo’s Diver Lake issued development permit

Nanaimo’s city council has voted unanimously to issue a development permit for a mixed-use project that would include 17 housing units on Diver Lake.
Council gave the green light for the project, located at 3679 Shenton Rd., to proceed at a special council meeting on July 27.
The property is located on the north side of Diver Lake and is currently vacant with several mature trees.
The three-storey building would include office space and a mix of studio, one, and two-bedroom apartments.
