Nomination period begins soon for Nanaimo’s municipal election

Election time in Nanaimo is getting closer, and the municipality is reminding residents that anyone thinking of running for a seat on council or the mayor’s position that the nomination period for the city’s municipal election begins on Sept. 1 at 9 a.m., and ends on Sept. 11.
Those intending to run as candidates are encouraged to file nomination documents with the chief election officer, or designate, at the Legislative Services Office at City Hall, located at 455 Wallace St.
