New 63-unit housing complex proposed for Nanaimo’s north end

A 63-unit housing complex is being proposed for a 1.03-hectare site located at 6060 Nelson Road, which is situated south of Hammond Bay Road between Turner and Rutherford roads.
City of Nanaimo’s design advisory panel had no objections to the proposal at its meeting on July 23, but made 19 recommendations for improvements to the project.
The property is currently forested, and a single-residential dwelling has recently been demolished.
