Nanaimo’s long-time parks director retires
After a 30-year career working for the City of Nanaimo, the municipality’s director of parks, recreation and culture, Darcie Osborne, is retiring.
Since joining the city in 1996 in the parks and recreation department, she has worked her entire career in eight different positions, which includes recreation programmer, coordinator, supervisor, manager, director and acting general manager, before taking on the department’s top job.
