Nanaimo South Wellington Community Centre opens to public

The South Wellington Community Centre officially opened its doors, marking an end to a decade-long process which involved saving the building from demolition.On Wednesday, Aug. 19, the ribbon was cut, opening the centre, which also features a community park including a playground, sport court with basketball hoops and a play field.
Originally, the site had been home to the South Wellington School, which had operated from 1969 until its closure in 2013.
